We were absolutely delighted that our 10th Annual Charity Ball raised an amazing £9,560 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and World Horse Welfare. Over 220 guests attended, including the Chief Executive of the British Horse Society, Lynn Petersen and our local MP Stephen Hammond
and everyone enjoyed entertainment from the excellent magicians from StarTurn Entertainment and the brilliant DJ Heidi who played on to delighted partygoers well after the 1 am finish. It was remarkable that there weren’t more sore heads in the morning as the bar was still buzzing at 3 am.
We were so grateful to our many sponsors because without them our Annual Charity Ball couldn’t possibly be the incredible event it has become!
Once again the highlight of the evening was the raffle and silent auction; as always, we were so appreciative of everyone who had donated or helped us find prizes. And a big thank you to Deborah, Jan and Dawn who wrapped them all so beautifully beforehand. We had tremendous support from many local businesses in the Village, for which we were extremely grateful.
We would also like to thank all the staff of the Cannizaro House (recently taken over by Hotel Du Vin) for having looked after us so well on the night and for the delicious food which was served so efficiently. I have had so many appreciative comments about the excellent food and wine.
We have already booked the date for 2016 – it will be on Saturday 5th March, so do put the date in your diary now so you don’t miss out.
