Helping out at the Stables

Looking after our stable yard of  horses is very hard work so we always appreciate any extra help.  If you have no experience then we will help you to learn but please be prepared  because in addition to the time you will spend handling the horses,  there is a also a lot of sweeping, scrubbing and polishing too.  Oh yes -  we probably should mention - that we start at 8.00 on weekdays and 7.00 at weekends.  Please speak to Clare or Jenny if you would like to find out more.

MEMBER'S BARBEQUES

During the Summer months,  when the weather is good (something even the weather forecasters never seem to be able to predict!) we take advantage of the warm evenings and enjoy impromptu barbeques in the yard.  It is obviously not possible to plan  these dates in advance but if the opportunity arises  we like to to invite our Members to join us. The usual format is that anyone who comes brings a bottle and a food contribution, salad, etc something for Claire to cook etc.  (would anyone like the job of co-ordinating what everyone is bringing?).

Members - if you would like to be informed when these are taking place then please let us know - either send an e-mail or let us know next time you are in the office.

Its an iconic showjumping contest, the like of which you won’t find anywhere else in the world, no other course asks this much of a test of horse and rider and no other course creates this type of drama.’ Clare Balding, BBC Sport Presenter
