A bit of rain did not stop anyone from enjoying our Members’ Show which was very kindly sponsored this year by Peter Harrington.
The day started full of promise with warm sunshine during the Condition and Turnout Class which was won by John (Dan) 2nd Lizzie (Elamo), 3rd Georgie (Louis), 4th Holly (Mario), 5th Tammy (Dumpling) and 6th Charles (Cara).
Sadly the white jodhpurs didn’t stay white for long as the heavens opened during the Best Rider Classes. Section One was won by Marian (Havana) 2nd Heidi (Posh), 3rd Katie (Honey) 4th Lizzie (Elamo) and 5th John (Dan). Section Two winner was Tammy (Dumpling) who included a superb show riding without stirrups with Charles 2nd (Cara) 3rd Dihya (Cookie), 4th Georgia (Louis) and 5th Holly (Mario).
With skies starting to look brighter the Riding Club Horse took place. The winner of Section One was John (Dan), 2nd Heidi (Posh), 3rd Lizzie (Elamo), 4th Katie (Honey) and 5th Marian (Havana).
Section Two winner was Charles on Cara, 2nd Dihya (Cookie), 3rd Holly (Mario).
The final class to be judged by Mojca and Caroline was the Working Hunter which saw Mandy and Honey perform beautifully to win with Marian (Havana) a close second. 3rd, Lizzie (Elamo), 4th John
(Dan), 5th Heidi (Posh) and 6th Dihya (Cookie). The Show Hunter was won by Holly (Mario).
By the time the afternoon came the sun was well and truly shining and it was lovely to see so many spectators come to cheer on their favourite horses. There were rosettes all round in the Clear Round Competition and the very thrilling Novice Jumping competition was won by Marian & Havanna, 2nd Davina & Schnitzl, 3rd Lizzie & Louis, 4th Heidi & Posh, 5th Donna & Dumpling, 6th Lucy on Elamo.
Back at the yard the presentations were made for the riders who gained the most points during the day and the Championship was awarded to Lizzie with Marian as Reserve Champion and Heidi in third.
