Training & Courses
Increasingly we are finding that our riders are really keen to both expand their knowledge and improve their riding and, in response to this, we have developed a series of Riding and Horse Care Courses in addition to recognised BHS Courses. These weekday Courses run periodically in addition to our normal rides and lessons as detailed on the What WVS Offers page; from Learn to Ride in a Day for the complete beginner, to specialist Dressage and Jumping Courses for those with a particular interest, and great Horse Care Workshops for those who may one day wish to own their own horse, we offer something for everyone keen to continue learning.
Our BHS qualified and highly experienced instructors will guide you through every step of the way and aim to make every Course a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Our safe, well-mannered horses help make learning fun and are always a joy to ride, allowing riders to concentrate on learning with confidence.
One of our specially tailored Courses could be the perfect introduction to the exciting and challenging world of riding or, for those who have ridden before, a great way to build on experience already gained and, to put this new found knowledge and skill to good use, we offer a full programme of mounted and non-mounted events and activities for all standards, including dressage or jumping competitions, Member’s Shows and our brilliant equestrian pub quiz night. Members can also benefit from our free educational lecture/demos that are organised throughout the year (see our What’s On page).
- Booking a course
You do not need to be a Wimbledon Village Stables Member to take part in a course, although Members will receive priority when booking. If you see a course which you would like to participate in please check availability by e-mailing or telephoning the office. Download and return the Booking Form as confirmation. Please note that numbers are limited so do please book early to avoid disappointment.
