We are situated in the exclusive heart of Wimbledon Village, London SW19, just a stone’s throw from the famous All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, home of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships Just eight miles from the centre of London, we are conveniently placed within walking distance of both tube and mainline services and directly on several bus routes. Wimbledon Common is a beautiful suburban oasis; its 1,100 acres feature miles of well-maintained riding tracks through stunning woodland and grassy open spaces and link up with the 2,500 acres of historic Richmond Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Horses are an integral part of Village life and Wimbledon Village Stables is delighted to be part of the Wimbledon community.  We are often called upon to provide horses to help publicise the opening of a new shop or restaurant or to promote various local events.  We have very strong links with the local business community through the Wimbledon Village Business Association and we provide horses for occasions such as the Village’s Christmas Shopping Day where, for many of the hundreds of people who attend, Santa on horseback is the highlight of the day, while the Easter Shopping Day would not be complete without a bunny on a horse parading through the Village!  The stables is an essential stopping point for many families who like to come in and see the horses and feed them carrots – indeed, local estate agent Robert Holmes, from Robert Holmes & Co says:  “The Stables creates a real Village atmosphere, and because of this there is a great demand for houses in Wimbledon Village“. We also regularly offer work experience placements to youngsters considering a career with horses.

However, what has given us the most satisfaction over the years is the amount of money we have been able to raise to support a number of worthwhile charities. Every year we organise a Summer Show on Wimbledon Common, a pub quiz, a Sponsored Horse Ride and a magical Christmas Carol Concert in the stable yard and the money raised from these events over the past 30 years has totalled nearly £500,000. The charities we support include the Royal Marsden Hospital which has received over £130,000 from our fundraising in the last seven years, The Wimbledon Guild, The Wimbledon & Putney Commons Conservators and the
Holly Lodge Centre in Richmond Park.
