Wimbledon Village Stables is a British Horse Society 5 Star Approved London Livery Yard (Horse Boarding Stables), where you can be confident that your horse will be sympathetically cared for to the highest possible standard every day by our dedicated and professional team who give their all – to your horse and you!

With Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park on our doorstep, we offer some of the most fabulous riding country in the South East of England and in the centre of Common there is a choice of two schooling rings, one of which contains a set of jumps.  We have a full schedule of rides and lessons available every day except Monday and our livery owners are able to join any of the classes, courses and hacks free-of-charge and only private lessons are extra.

We organise many events throughout the year which livery owners have priority in entering, for instance our Summer Show, dressage competitions, sponsored ride and special two-hours rides.   This is a very sociable yard and our livery owners have a wide range of events and activities to choose from and enjoy.

We understand that owning a horse is a major commitment and it may seem particularly challenging in London, but the services we provide mean that you will never have to worry about your horse’s day-to-day needs. As well as organising all the shoeing, worming, grooming, clipping, saddlery and veterinary needs, we make sure that your horse is appropriately exercised and, if required, schooled.  We even organise regular ‘holidays’ for the horses at nearby Manor Farm in Claygate where they can be turned out in 70 acres of well-kept pasture under the watchful eye of Sandra and Amy Cullingham.  With 24-hour supervision and CCTV and alarm systems you can be sure that your horse will be safe and secure at all times.

Buying a horse is a big responsibility and if you’d also like us to help you find the perfect partner – that you’d like to keep at WVS – then providing we have availability, we can help you source a great match through our agent in Ireland.  It can take a few months for you to become fully acquainted, but our experienced team are always here to help and advise you on your ownership journey.

Livery spaces do not become available very often, so when they do, our Members have priority.

Standard Livery is possibly the most affordable and flexible way to keep horses in London, with exactly the same high standards of care and attention for your horse as the Bespoke Livery option. It is also ideal for those who are tight on time and who may not be able to exercise their horse on a daily basis. The most obvious difference between Standard and Bespoke Livery is that Standard allows your horse to be ridden by our Members too.

We ensure horses are treated with the utmost care and respect by our Members, and that they are fully supervised at all times. The horses are always paired with riders of appropriate ability, and our instructors are on hand to school the horses when necessary to ensure that their level of training is not only maintained, but also improved.

Standard livery includes:

  • One-hour group lessons or accompanied hacks every day free-of-charge with BHS-qualified Instructors
  • 24-hour supervision and CCTV
  • Arranged visits from the farrier, equine dentist and saddler
  • All feed and bedding, daily grooming, tack cleaning, rug changing, exercising

The owner will be responsible for the following:  Insurance, vet fees, farrier fees, additional daily charge if horse is resting due to illness, dentist, saddlery repairs, rug cleaning, supplements, clipping,  private lessons, schooling, transport, subscriptions,  entry fees.

Wimbledon Village Stables offers an exclusive Bespoke Livery service that, as the description suggests, can be tailored to meet the most exacting needs. Horses on Bespoke Livery are ridden only by the owner and our Instructors and individual programmes are devised to give you something more unique to your personal requirements.

Our expert team include Grand Prix dressage riders and skilled show jumpers and eventers so this livery is perfect if you have aspirations of seeing your horse compete.

Bespoke livery includes:
