We’re excited to introduce equestrian-focused yoga classes in the stable yard, led by Charlotte Evanson (life coach, yoga teacher, and owner of Cosmo). These sessions will bring together strength, stretching, and mindfulness—all essential for riders looking to improve balance, mobility, and body awareness in the saddle. The stable yard provides a magical setting for a truly holistic experience, connecting movement and breath with the energy of the horses around you. We are excited to welcome you to Wimbledon Village Stables on the second Saturday of every month from 2 to 3 pm for our Open Days! Whether you’re an experienced rider, a beginner, or simply curious about horses, this is a perfect opportunity to explore the stables and learn more about what we offer. During your visit, adults can: Discover our different Membership Options and find out how you can enjoy regular riding at Wimbledon Village Stables. Learn about our innovative Equicise horse simulator, designed to help riders of all ages and abilities improve their skills in a fun, safe, and effective way. Children will love meeting Mr. Fudge, our adorable miniature Shetland Pony, and learning all about how we care for our horses and ponies. No booking is required—just turn up and enjoy a friendly, informative afternoon with us. We look forward to seeing you at the stables!

We’re excited to announce our next dressage competition on Friday, 11th April! This event is a fantastic opportunity to gauge your progress in a relaxed and supportive environment. The atmosphere is friendly and laid-back, making it the perfect setting to enjoy the experience without pressure. You’ll ride Prelim 18  test, judged on your position, effectiveness, and correctness of aids. Afterwards, we’ll meet in the yard for prize giving, where you’ll have a chance to debrief with the judge. It’s a great way to reflect on your performance and gain valuable insights. To top it off, we’ll have a Prosecco toast and a barbecue in the yard—what better way to celebrate the day? Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or new to dressage, we’d love to see you there!  Entry fee is £20.  Rosettes for all participants. Numbers are limited - riders will need to be flexible with their riding time.  Times will be allocated on booking

FIT AND FUN!  Every Tuesday morning at 9.00 am. (please be ready by 8.45)  These one hour rides are suitable for experienced riders only and will include longer trots and canters; there will be an emphasis on rider fitness so they will be ideal for anyone wanting to improve core strength, leg strength and balance. Royal Windsor Horse Show is the UK’s largest outdoor premier Show and takes place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle. There is Show Jumping; Carriage Driving;  Endurance and over 130 Showing classes. As well as international competition, there are also displays from The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, The Land Rover Shetland Pony Grand National, DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games and more! The showground hosts five arenas, an extensive Shopping Village and a Food Court. 2pm - 3pm. All you need to know about grooming. Grooming time is the perfect time to take note of a horse’s basic health and how he is feeling, so this session covers everything you need to know in order give your horse a relaxing and invigorating grooming session, and recognise any signs that your horse may not be feeling 100%. Become familiar with the many different brushes and tools available, learn how to pick out feet and wash a tail, and generally discover how to keep your horse looking immaculate.  Free for Members (Non-members £20)

Royal Hospital Chelsea will once again be the unique and prestigious venue for the London leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour. World-class show jumping will take place on the South Grounds which lead down to the River Thames, with the breathtaking backdrop of the heritage buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Founded by King Charles II over 300 years ago, it has provided care and comradeship for veterans, known the world over as the Chelsea Pensioners. The event has become a fixture on the social calendar with celebrities such as Jodie Kidd, Rory Bremner, Richard Hammond and Ronan Keating amongst others, all enjoying the action.

Wimbledon Village Stables' Annual Fancy Dress Ride is  on Saturday, 13th September around Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park!  Our riders will be raising funds for amazing charities. Please consider supporting them with a donation. Come and cheer on our riders in their Fancy Dress parade down the High Street at 9:15 and 12:15. The Wimbledon Village Business Association is hosting a Dress Up For Charity day with fun activities, including a doggie fancy dress competition. Join us for the Prize Giving party at 1 pm in the yard—tickets available.   We can't wait to celebrate this special day with you and appreciate your support!

As the summer holidays come to an end and everyone returns, it feels like a new year is beginning. To celebrate this transition, we are excited to invite all our members to our Welcome Back Party on Saturday, September, from 6 to 9 PM in the stable yard.   Join us for an evening of drinks, catching up, and enjoying a delicious bowl of chili, catered by the amazing  Catered by Justin. Our in-house band, The Unstables, will provide live entertainment at the event.   Each ticket includes a welcome drink and a bowl of chilli. Additional drinks can be purchased from the bar set up in the yard. Finishes 9.00 p.m. prompt (After party at Hemingways!) Join us for Our Magical Christmas Carol Concert in the Stable Yard! This enchanting event has become an essential part of the Christmas festivities in Wimbledon Village, perfect for adults and children alike. Enjoy the festive atmosphere as we gather to sing carols in a traditional stable setting. Hot drinks, mulled wine, and mince pies will be served to keep you warm and in good spirits. And for our younger guests, there will even be a special visit from Santa Claus! All proceeds from the evening will go directly to this very worthy cause. At the end of the event, there will be an opportunity to make a further donation—please give generously to support their vital work. Please note that this is an outdoor event, so dress warmly. We kindly ask that you arrive promptly and follow the directions of our friendly stewards. For the safety and well-being of our horses, we request that you do not feed them. Mark Your Diaries – Our 2025 Christmas Party! Our annual Christmas Party is always a highlight of the year, and we’re already looking forward to planning the next one! It will once again be held at The Fox and Grapes on Camp Road, Wimbledon, with all the same fantastic details—delicious food, great company, and of course, our famous Pass the Parcel game that never fails to bring plenty of laughs. Join other WVS Members on a fabulous Riding Safari to Ants Nest Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill are two beautiful lodges set in their own private game reserve. Ant’s was established 25 years ago by Ant & Tessa Baber and continues to be run by Ant, whose family have lived in the Waterberg since 1865. Both Nest and Hill offer you the chance of a fabulous riding safari but there are also a range of other activities on offer. For those who prefer to walk, the guides will take you on guided bush walks. Vehicle game drives and cycling safaris are also available. Ant Baber and his team have perfected the art of the luxurious and very personal safari. The lodges are ideal for riders and non-riders alike as activities can be tailored to suit each person in the group. Great pride is taken in the delicious cuisine on offer. Enjoy bush breakfasts, starlit dinners around open fires or impromptu lunches beneath a shady tree. Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill not only offer a fabulous game viewing experience and a wide variety of activities; they are superb places to just relax and watch the sun go down for those needing a well-deserved break.
