Saturday, 7th March, over 130 guests came together at the elegant Hotel du Vin in Wimbledon for an unforgettable evening in support of the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators. And what a night it was! From the very start, the glamour was palpable—everyone dressed to the nines in black tie, ready for an evening of fun, laughter, and generosity.
This year’s event proved to be a record-breaker, with over £19,000 raised for the Commons and £245 for the Royal Marsden Hospital—an extraordinary achievement for a single evening. The prize draw alone contributed an astonishing £7,500, with a brand-new format ensuring every table won a prize—a hit with guests and adding to the excitement of the night.
Entertainment was nothing short of spectacular. Guests were amazed by the illusions of Magician Matt Windsor, while live illustrations by Kathy Whyte captured the magic of the evening in real time. And of course, music and dancing kept everyone on their feet until midnight.
The evening wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our supporters. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors: The Sybarite, Clementine Com, Patrick and Sheena Evershed, and Richard and Sara Brown, as well as all the members, local businesses, and individuals who donated incredible prizes.
It’s always such a joy to see our community come together for this annual celebration, and the record-breaking funds raised mean the Wimbledon and Putney Commons will continue to thrive for everyone to enjoy.
We’re already looking forward to next year—save the date – Saturday 6th March!
Thank you Phoebe Clarke for the amazing pictures!
