Riding for members

Membership gives you priority access to our riding opportunities. Gold and Silver Members can enjoy, as part of their Membership,  one-hour rides on the Common or choose to take lessons in one of our two all-weather schooling arenas, located in the heart of the Common.  Our ride times are 9.00, 10.15 and 11.30 Tuesday through to Sunday.  With consistency and peace of mind, you’ll benefit from easier booking, discounted rates, and a more personalised service.

We offer Members the following riding experiences

One hour rides

Our instructor-led riding groups offer a sociable and refined way to explore the beautiful expanse of Wimbledon Common.     Accompanied by a knowledgeable instructor, these shared riding experiences take you through varied and engaging terrain, with the landscape changing beautifully across the seasons—ensuring that no two rides are ever the same. Riding in an open environment brings a true sense of freedom, offering an authentic and rewarding experience in the saddle.    As well as being an enjoyable way to ride with fellow members, these experiences provide an excellent opportunity to build confidence, refine your skills, and improve overall fitness.

One hour class lesson

Exclusively for members, our arena lessons offer the perfect opportunity to connect with your horse and refine your riding in a focused, supportive environment.    Held in one of our two all-weather arenas at the heart of Wimbledon Common, lessons are conducted with riders of similar ability and ambition, while your instructor ensures personalised guidance throughout. Each session includes a ride to and from the arena, providing a gentle warm-up before the lesson and a relaxing cool-down afterwards, with time to enjoy the company of your instructor and fellow members. (Session time includes both the ride to and from the arena.)

One hour training rides

This is a great opportunity to combine all of the learning opportunities of a lesson in the stunning surroundings of a hack. Your Instructor will train you while hacking to help improve your control. This is a challenging, but enjoyable, alternative to ring lessons – engaging your horse’s attention on the track is much more demanding than it is in the arena! You might also find that outside the arena, you learn differently too. You may be more relaxed, or notice different things about your horse’s way of going. You will learn about distances, control, independent working, changing pace and tempo and much, much more.

Additional exclusive riding experiences are also available and listed below.

One hour private ride or lesson

In your one-hour private lesson, you will work closely with a dedicated instructor, with the session tailored specifically to your skills, goals, and ambitions. Conducted on the tracks, these lessons are ideal for riders seeking to build confidence, refine technique, or focus on particular areas of improvement.

Whether you wish to work on a specific skill, perfect your riding, or accelerate your progress, your instructor will provide personalised guidance to help you achieve your objectives in a supportive and effective environment.

Two hour sessions

Our two-hour lessons offer an extended and rewarding riding experience, combining focused arena work with time in the open. Each session includes approximately one hour of dedicated instruction in the arena, with a relaxed warm-up on the way there and a gentle cool-down on the return ride.

This format allows riders to develop a balanced, effective, and confident seat, while giving instructors the time to focus on specific areas of improvement with personalised guidance. Ideal for more experienced riders, these lessons provide the opportunity to refine technique, work towards higher-level goals, or progress through Preliminary or Novice dressage tests, all within a more immersive and enjoyable session.
