Storm Brian did not stop the 2017 WVS Sponsored Ride being an overwhelming success. Over the two days 38riders from Wimbledon Village Stables and their trusty steeds…

… dressed up in some amazing fancy dress costumes to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Much to the delight of pedestrians and motorists, they paraded along Wimbledon Village High Street before heading out on Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park. Not to be left out The Fantastic Mr Fudge was decorated in Marsden banners and walked the pavements with a bucket and collected generous cash donations from passers by. Fancy dress Judged by Bill Rowland & Stephen Bound from the Wimbledon and Putney Commons and the winners on each day were Rachel as Wicked Witch of the West riding Bertie and Tracey Alovisi as Bertie Bassett Rider of the Days of the day were 11 year old Rose who was taking part in her first Sponsored Ride on Sunday and had not been on a ride longer than an hour and Kristina riding Havana on Tuesday, The incredible sum of £18,600 was raised in total for the Royal Marsden Hospital and a donation of £1,000 was also made to the Holly Lodge Centre We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, all of the generous sponsors, Bill and Stephen for judging, Kristina and Patrick for the fantastic photos, Emma, Rachel and Peter for taking the Fantastic Mr Fudge,
