We had a ball!  (scroll down for the phtotos)

The Wimbledon Village Stables Annual Charity Ball, held on Saturday, 2nd March, was once again a resounding success, with over 100 guests revelling until the late hours.  The event was dedicated to raising funds for World Horse Welfare, and we were very pleased to be joined by Chief Executive, Roly Owers and Francis Plume.

Roly gave a moving speech thanking everyone at the stables for their support and explaining how the money will be put towards improving the lives of horses both at home and overseas.

There was a fantastic and lively atmosphere all evening, which has been beautifully captured by our official photographer, Phoebe Clarke.  If you’re in need of a top-notch photographer in the future, we can highly recommend Phoebe!

We are very grateful to all our sponsors – Patrick and Sheena Evershed, Clementine Co, The Family Treatment Centre, Robert Holmes Estate Agents, Richard and Sara Brown and Dickie Arbiter – whose generous support made the event possible. We were delighted that so many of them were able to join us.

Special thanks also to the Hotel du Vin for the outstanding service and delicious cuisine.  We were very happy to welcome Natalie Heath, the new General Manager, as one of our guests, as well as Colin Cooper, the new Chief Executive of Wimbledon and Putney Common Conservatives, and Diane Mills, Head of the Conservators.  Also in attendance were Jack Rowlands, who is responsible for the maintenance of the riding tracks and the arenas, and his wife, Ali.

The highlight of the evening was the remarkable sum raised for World Horse Welfare, totaling an impressive £12,219.91 thanks to our successful prize draw and silent auction.  Notable prizes included a lesson with Carl Hester, won by Nuph Clarke and Tracey Sherwin, and a £500 Harrods voucher, generously donated by Masahiro and Makiko Honsawa, won by Cristel and Rob Booth.

We also want to thank everyone who contributed prizes and helped us achieve such an impressive sum.  Mark your calendars now for next year’s ball, scheduled for 1st March.
